Further Research

I believe that the relationship between the bible and science should be taken into further research. We are able to prove many things through science and I believe that there is a relationship between these two factors. Considerations should be take into account and we should be able to look deeper into the bible and find the relationship with science and vice-versa.

Response to "My Final Post" by Corbin Brassad

I agree with you when you say that society causes natural differences to grow. We live in a society where we are "classified" into being male and female and where are given certain characteristics that differentiate us. I believe that we should be considered equal because the only thing that differs is some internal organs, but we all have the same components, so there should be no "classification".

My Theory of Human Nature

I believe that God exists, He created us. he gave us the ability to pick and choose where we want to go in life. He gave us free will to decide what we are going to do in life and we design our own "telos" which is decided by the consequences of our actions. Women and men are different in body structure, but we all posses a body, mind and a soul. We are all equal, God made us equal and society should treat women equally. We should not only care for ourselves, but for one another because just like we care for ourselves we want others to appreciate us and care for us. Humans love to question everything that happens around them and that is good, but there are certain supernatural that are not yet to be understood, I believe.

Response to: Human nature? By Corbin Brassard

Is it human nature to consume meat even if we find it morally wrong?
I do believe that it is human nature to consume meat even if we find it morally wrong because the proteins and nutrients provided by "meat" are necessary for our system in order to survive. Even though it is not right to kill the animals and eat them its something we have to do since we cannot find some of those nutrients and proteins in plants and other types of food.

Human Nature: Hobbes and Rousseau

Understanding both viewpoints Hobbes and Rousseau there are some points that are acceptable to describe the human nature and there are others that I would consider too drastic. For instance we have Hobbes point of view which states that: "The natural state of man's life is solitary, poor, nasty, brutish and short". To my understanding all this means is that we as humans have no "good" in us and that all the actions we perform are for our own sake. I would argue this argument by saying that not all humans do everything in a "selfish way" because for example we have mothers who are always willing to give up everything so that their children can have the best. On the other hand we have Rousseau who believes that humans are: "noble savages who have been negatively influenced by society. I believe that there are certain things in which society can negatively impact us, but there are so much more in which it can make our life better. We need the rules dictated by society so that we can maintain order and respect among each others. Yes, I know there are many things in society that change the way we are and the way we approach certain things, but we need to learn how to balance the effect of society.

Nature Vs. Nurture

I can't really take a side in this debate. I believe that they both contribute to who we are today. Many things that happen are due to the men's nature, while others are due to nurture. We as human can inherit certain behavior from our parents because the moment we are born we start to learn things through what we see. We imitate what others do, until we are able to do it ourselves the way we like. On the other side, we do other things because our surroundings influence us to do so. We are constantly doing what we do sometimes because of nature and other times because of nurture.

Response to "Elaborating on prior arguments" by Elizabeth Pitroff

I really liked your post. I feel identified with your thoughts since I can't really take a side in this debate. I really like your last quote when you say " I am simply "determined" to be "free" in my decisions."  This really takes into consideration both sides and it doesn't choose one over the other.
